George L. Reed, Jr.

Senior Pastor

Reverend George L. Reed, Jr. (Pastor Reed) is a native of Jacksonville, FL. He is the eldest son of State Presider Dr. Loranda P. Denson and Reverend George Reed, Sr.

He experienced his spiritual awakening and the baptism of the Holy Ghost in Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ December 14, 2003. Since then, Pastor Reed has continued to serve God, people and the community.

Pastor Reed received his ministerial license in 2005 and served as youth pastor until 2008, when he was ordained an Elder. He is anointed to deliver a precise interpretation of the scriptures. This is evident in his writing, homilies, lectures, and pastoral counseling. Since accepting his calling into Kingdom ministry, Pastor Reed has served as the keynote/jubilation speaker for national organizational luncheons, community empowerment summits, youth retreats/conferences, and worship services.

Among the many accolades, he most treasures being the husband of Leading Lady Tammyla Harris-Reed and a servant leader.

In 2011, the Lord called Pastor Reed into African Methodism at Wayman Temple under the leadership of Reverend, Dr. Mark L. Griffin, where he served faithfully as a member and leader of the Kingsmen Men’s Ministry as well as The Sons of Allen. In October 2015, Pastor Reed received his Ministerial License, and he was ordained an Itinerant Deacon November 2019. Subsequently, Pastor Reed was appointed Pastor of Union Bethel AME Church in Crescent City, FL. August 2, 2020.

He is skilled in the areas of parliamentary procedure, biblical research, and leadership. In addition, Pastor Reed is employed in the corporate sector with more than 30 years of experience in course development, training, and customer service management. Pastor Reeds mantra is simple: “I’m committed to serve and called to lead.”

White High School.  He has earned a Bachelor of Theology & Christian Counseling from Saint Thomas Christian University, where he graduated Valedictorian, a Bachelor of Business Administration and Organizational Management from Edward Waters College, and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.

Pastor and Leading Lady Reed reside in Fleming Island, FL., have a sweet fur-baby named Prince and are the Godparents to nine wonderful children.

Tammyla Reed

Leading Lady

Tammyla Harris-Reed, affectionally known as Leading Lady T or Tam, is a native of Melbourne, FL. She is the youngest of five siblings born to Ned and Rebecca Harris.  Tammyla is a graduate of Palm Bay Senior High School and attended Tuskegee Institute (Tuskegee, AL), where she pursued degrees in Political Science and Sociology.  She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Organizational Management from Edward Waters College (Jacksonville, FL). Additionally, Tammyla earned a Master Certification in Project Management from Villanova University (Tampa, FL).

She began her career in law enforcement, then transitioned to communications, and has spent the last twenty-five years in the mortgage and technology industries.  She is currently employed as a Project Manager. God blessed Tammyla with the gift of creativity and her entrepreneurial spirit was awakened in the early 2000s. She is the proud owner of three business: U Got It Twisted Natural Hairstyling & Braids, Neckline Designs by Reed; a statement jewelry and custom men’s neckwear boutique, and her all-time favorite, Diva Trees by Tammyla. These are unique handcrafted mannequin Christmas Trees.

Tammyla grew up as a “Pew Baby”; born and raised in Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ. She sat in a baby carrier on the front pew and watched as her mother played piano and directed the church choir. A self-proclaimed daddy’s girl, she learned the importance of servanthood at the tender age of six. Tammyla worked alongside her father as he repaired and managed the upkeep of the sanctuary. She also volunteered [was voluntold] for positions within the Advanced Schools of Wisdom Department where she served as Local Superintendent and later as the District Chautauqua Coordinator. Tammyla blossomed in the Youth Department where she served as Local Youth Worker, Local Director, County Coordinator, and District Youth Supervisor. However, Tammyla believes her greatest accomplishment was meeting Reverend George L. Reed, Jr. during a youth convention. The two continued to work together in the youth department and were married in 1992.

In 2006, Tammyla was appointed as the Assistant National Youth Director where she served for five years before transitioning to African Methodism. She and her husband joined Wayman Temple AME Church in 2013, under the leadership of Pastor Mark L. Griffin and First Lady Dr. Cynthia Griffin.  Tammyla hit the ground running and began working alongside a close friend who led the Local Young People’s & Children’s Division (YPD).

August 2020 (amid the COVID-19 pandemic), Reverend Reed was appointed to pastoral leadership of Union Bethel AME Church in Crescent City, FL. All in-person services were prohibited; therefore, the ministry was forced to pivot. Tammyla stepped into the role of audio-visual/technician and secretary. The support services needed were in her wheelhouse because administration is another one of her gifts from God for Kingdom service. In addition to her role as Leading Lady, Tammyla currently serves as Local President of the Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) and Secretary of the Super South District under the leadership of Presiding Elder Karl V. Smith and Queenly Consultant Diane Smith.

Tammyla is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Women’s Internal Networking Group (WINGS), and Women in Technology (WIT).  She enjoys crafting, reading, traveling, volunteering and actively serves as a mentor to youth and young adults.

She is an authentic pusHER of positivity, is passionate about Women’s EmpowHERment and is committed to H.E.R.- Healing. Elevation. Restoration. She partners with sister-friends in ministry; lending her voice, time, and resources for causes that benefit sistership (sisters in partnership). Tammyla has a desire is to see women strengthened, encouraged, whole, renewed and living their absolute best life.
